Blueberry Bottle Release

The next bottle release at the brewery is Blueberry, available for online reservation on Monday, September 18th at noon! This bottle-conditioned sour beer was brewed over a direct fire in our copper kettle with malt from our friends at Sugar Creek in Indiana. The beer was made without hops, fermented with our wild house mixed culture and re-fermented on blueberries from Greer's Lost Creek Blueberries in Carbondale, IL. This beer has a beaming pink-blue hue, jammy blueberry pie flavors and a bright acidity that brings forth tart lemony characteristics through the finish. It's packaged in 500 ml bottles at 5.5% alcohol by volume and is ready for your enjoyment now or can be kept in your home cellar for several years.

Tickets to reserve the beer are $1 per bottle and you may reserve up to 12 bottles (or a case) for $12. The bottles themselves will be $15 each when you come to pick them up at the brewery with a reservation, or $17 without. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 18th at noon and will be available for reservation online until Wednesday, September 20th at midnight, or until the reservations are filled. After that, bottles will be available on a first-come first-served basis at the brewery. To secure a bottle (or a case!) make sure you reserve ahead of time. Our reservation fees are donated to a great cause. This time we'll be sending money to the Illinois Native Plant Society, a non-profit that focuses on promoting the study and appreciation of Illinois’ natural vegetation and providing educational resources for all those that wish to learn or share in our enthusiasm.

You may pick up your bottle during our normal business hours starting Thursday, September 21st through October 22nd. (Conveniently, this allows for bottle pick up during our Oktoberfest on September 24th!) We have very limited space so any bottles not claimed by October 22nd must be forfeited. As always, you will be asked to show ID and your ticket when you come to purchase your bottle. THANK YOU!
